Join Suncoast Netball and play like Sunshine Coast Lightning!
Suncoast Netball Club participates in the Sunshine Coast Netball Association (SCNA) Saturday fixtures competition, held at the Multi-Sport Complex on Fishermans Road, Maroochydore.
Aim
The Club aids the development of young netballers from as early as Prep, to create competitive teams and foster support for active lifestyle choices for our students.
Participation
Participation in team sports such as netball influences many facets of a student’s life by developing strong relationships with peers, providing an understanding of being a team player, and receiving recognition within the school community.
Coaches
Suncoast Netball Club relies on parents who are willing to volunteer their time toward coaching a team. The Club is very fortunate to have an experienced Coach Coordinator – Mrs Megan Bourke. She oversees the coaches and as a club, we support them by ensuring they are able to gain the necessary skills they need via courses the Sunshine Coast Netball Association SCNA provides throughout the year.
Managers
The Club also relies on parents to assist the coach on Saturdays by placing parents of the team onto rosters for scoring, ensuring the board is collected and signed by the players for the start of play and returning the board to the office at the conclusion of the game.
Training and Teams
Training is a very important part of the commitment to playing as part of a team. Growing as a team will ensure cohesion and unity on the court and ultimately success as you learn to play as a team and not as an individual. Players are to make sure that netball training is a weekly commitment with attendance being recorded. Training is held at Suncoast Christian College campus courts.
